PUNISHMENT FOR EACH SIN

not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done:
thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
XIII. REGARD LESSER TRANSGRESSIONS AS
SEVERE ONES
w/unintentional sin & an animal offering: it is the
"animal inclination" that can lull one into thinking that his
minor/unintentional sins will be over-looked, and are not
"significant" enough to warrant sincere repentance; but as a sin
begets another sin, small sins beget larger ones; and if one lets his small
transgression pile up, he will soon find himself doing larger transgressions and
"justifying" them, or belittling them to the category of "minor
sins". The symbolic offering-up of one's "animal inclination"
through an animal offering lets the small-time sinner know that his
"tiny" sin ARE significant, and that he must work just as hard to
conquer them as he would to fend-off larger sins!
Shabbos 105b

THE FOURTH LEVEL
I. A Negative Commandment In Which No Action Was Involved
Stripes ARE NOT administered for violation of a negative commandant
not involving an action (Sanhedrin 63a). We also learn that such a
violation is more sever than that of a negative commandment connected to a
positive one (Yoma 85b) [Those involving the other's speech, abstention
from action].
a) Exhortations involving the heart.

not mean that it will be there tomorrow!!! This does not equate with the

with our evil inclination!!!]

God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD

for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for
